Selling Off Inventory

Winter is arguably the best time of year for buyers to be looking for RVs, closely followed by fall. However, it’s not the busiest time of year. That belongs to the warmer months. So think of how that works out. RV dealerships spend all of spring and summer selling one RV after the other. Then, by the time winter comes around, they’re preparing to get new inventory from manufacturers. To make room for these new models, they’re going to try to get rid of as many of last year’s models as possible. And they might just be desperate enough to cut you a deal.

This is also true to some extent for private sellers. Private sellers may be looking to upgrade their current model, or looking to get rid of a model that didn’t exactly pan out for them. With the camping season over, now’s the time for them to sell it so they’re ready to buy a new one.

Between these two scenarios, you’ll have lots of options available to you at more affordable prices.

Better Deals, Lower Prices

Speaking of more affordable prices, the slower traffic for dealerships means sellers have to look for ways to create interest in products that are out of season. That usually results in special deals, lowered prices, and better financing options. The seller is going to work hard to keep you hooked and you’ll be able to walk away from the lot with a model that has all the great bells and whistles you were looking for at a better price. There’s even more room for negotiating down, so be sure to talk numbers with your sales representative when you’re looking around.

The Benefits of RV Show Season

Winter also happens to be the time of year when many RV shows are put on as well. Manufacturers are showing off their latest releases and sellers are drumming up excitement for the upcoming camping season.

This year, many shows have gone virtual for the safety of attendees and staff. This could make it easier for you to attend, given that you won’t have to arrange to travel that day, but you’ll want to head into the event with an open mind.

Every once in a while, the stars will align and you’ll find the perfect RV at the perfect price and are ready and willing to leave the show with it. Generally though, we recommend using these events as an opportunity to explore. See what’s up and coming, and look for things you may want to look for in the models you’re looking at.

Plus, it’s an opportunity to connect with the RV community at large and get tips from fellow travelers and experts. You can even connect with us at many of the local RV shows, including Hershey’s RV Show.

At this point, you’re probably already starting to switch tabs to look at our online inventory. It’s an exciting process, we definitely get it. We also get that it can be a little overwhelming, which is why we’re here to help. Contact Pete’s RV PA and let one of our experienced staff help you take the next steps toward ownership.
